Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Inspector Aide to support projects in the Montgomery, AL area. This entry-level position offers hands-on field inspection experience under the guidance of senior inspectors and project managers.

Responsibilities include daily field inspections, documentation, punch list development, and ensuring conformance to quality and code requirements. Valid driver’s license and US citizenship are required; some roles may require FDOT MOT certification within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency
• Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
• Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required
• FDOT Intermediate MOT - Must obtain within the first six months of the assignment

Responsibilities

• Relies on detailed instructions and pre–established guidelines to effectively perform assigned job functions while following standard procedures and project requirements
• Works under immediate supervision, receiving guidance and direction from senior inspectors or project managers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
• Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and applicable code requirements by performing thorough and consistent inspection duties in the field
• Performs daily field inspections, documenting observations and maintaining accurate, organized inspection records to support project tracking and compliance
• Participates in the development of punch lists, as well as testing and commissioning activities, to help ensure all systems and components meet project standards prior to completion
• Tracks quality assurance progress throughout various stages of construction, identifying issues and supporting corrective actions to maintain project quality
• Provides input and support for documentation related to area and equipment turnovers, assisting in the preparation of closeout materials and ensuring a smooth transition to operations
