Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 34 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time ConstructionInspectorto join our construction management team.
The ideal candidate has at least 3years of experiencewith the construction and inspection of various site construction projects across the New York Metropolitan area; including but not limited to architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements etc..
This position will begin full-time, On-site, in New York City.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIESinclude, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform inspections on construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications
- Read and perform inspections on contract drawings and plans to Identifyany potential violations, includingarchitectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing elements;
- Reviewall materialsupon arrival at the job site to ensure compliance, including assessing the quality of materials used through testing
- Document inspectionsand maintain logs of work performed, reporting any issues discovered
- Perform additional responsibilities as necessary
QUALIFICATIONSinclude, but are not limited to, the following:
- At least 3years of experienceworking professionally in a construction setting
- At least 3years of experienceworking professionally as a construction inspector, including the inspection of site/civil work. (can overlap with above experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management is preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of construction codes forNew York Cityand New YorkState, along with the related referenced standards such as ADA Standards, etc
- Knowledge of construction scheduling to support the project team
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and procedures
- An active OSHA 30-hour certificationis required
- Proficiency with web-based submittal collaboration systems
- Ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations
- Experience in reading and interpreting plans and specifications
- Ability to collaborate with multiple team members
- Capability to safely maneuver around a construction site
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be fluent in English (both written and spoken)
