Job Description

The OSP Inspector II will be responsible for ensuring that all the client’s underground, buried, and aerial plant facilities meet current standards through inspections and corrective work performed by contractors. The inspector will document all inspections, audits, and pole transfers electronically and communicate via email and cellular phone. Manual inspections, audits, and transfers may be necessary at times using printed spreadsheets. Familiarity with mapping/GPS technology is required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience performing NESC inspections or working on an aerial cable line crew.
  • Experience inspecting wooden pole ground lines.
  • Proficiency in OSP Construction Standards.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Windows XP, Excel 2003 or newer, and Outlook.
  • Experience with mapping tools such as Microsoft MapPoint 2009 or newer is preferred but not required.
  • Comfort with internet usage and web browsing.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Construction contractor management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to travel on short notice.
