Job summary

Bowman Engineering & Consulting (BEC) is seeking a qualified individual to perform daily inspections, sampling, and testing of contractor work to ensure compliance with contract documents. The candidate will be responsible for meeting with contractors to discuss ongoing work, preparing daily inspection reports, and submitting reports to the supervising Professional Engineer for review. Attention to detail and effective communication with contractors are essential for this role.

• Perform daily inspections, sampling, and testing of contractor’s finished work.
• Coordinate with contractors daily regarding inspections and testing.
• Prepare daily inspection reports of construction activities.

Job description

• Perform daily inspection, sampling, and testing of contractor’s finished work to verify that it conforms to the contract documents before the work is accepted.
• Perform inspection of contractor’s interim work that determines the quality of the finished work when the contract documents call for it.
• Meet with contractors daily to coordinate what completed or in-progress work required inspection, sampling, and testing.
• Prepare daily inspection reports of all construction activities, inspections, samples, tests, work progress, quantities completed, weather, visitors, deficient interim work, non-conforming permanent work, root causes of issues, and contractor corrective actions.
• Submit daily reports to the supervising Professional Engineer for review and feedback of any corrections before the Professional Engineer signs off on the reports.
• Other duties assigned by the Professional Engineer.
