Description

Fisher Associates is seeking a Construction Inspector (NICET III/IV) for a streambed stabilization project in Oneida County for 2025. The position is expected to last for one construction season starting as early as April. For more information, contact Al at: [e-mail] or call [phone].

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong client relationships adhering to the Fisher Clientship philosophy.
• Conduct regular on-site inspections to verify construction activities align with plans, specifications, and codes.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintain detailed inspection records, including photographs, notes, and reports.
• Prepare inspection reports with findings, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Communicate inspection results and issues with contractors, project managers, and engineers.
• Provide guidance on corrective measures for non-compliance.
• Monitor quality of materials and workmanship to meet standards.
• Identify and report deviations from plans and specifications.
• Evaluate safety protocols adherence and address hazards promptly.
• Collaborate with project team to resolve issues and ensure smooth progress.
• Attend meetings to update on inspections and address concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 5 years of civil or highway construction inspection experience.
• Thorough knowledge of NYSDOT Specifications and MURK.
• NICET Certification or equivalent NYSDOT experience.
• Proof of OSHA 10 training.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, access and navigate construction sites, and work in various environmental conditions including dust, noise, heat, cold, and inclement weather.
