Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Construction Inspector for a contract role based out of Allen, TX, with remote work options. The role focuses on field inspections, reading industrial prints, and ensuring compliance with Right of Way and utility easements.

Experience with underground utility design/oversight is preferred. The ideal candidate will be proficient with laptops, GIS tools, and field workflows, and capable of negotiating with contractors and stakeholders in dynamic environments.

Qualifications

• Experience reading prints and diagrams with station numbers and lat/long.
• Strong familiarity with Right of Ways and/or Utility easements.
• Experience using laptops, spreadsheets, cell phones, GIS maps or other field tools in outdoor environments.
• Experience in underground utility design, oversight, or inspection.
• Ability to interact professionally with subcontractors, contractors, clients and the public and defuse conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Read prints and diagrams in the field daily.
• Inspect underground utilities and right-of-way areas.
• Coordinate with contractors, clients and inspectors on-site.
• Utilize laptops, GIS maps and mobile devices in outdoor settings.
• Ensure accurate field records and project documentation.

Description

The ideal Construction Inspector needs to be able to perform the following duties on a daily basis in the field:

• *High familiarity and/or experienced in reading prints and diagrams utilizing station #'s and lat/long identifiers.
• *Strong familiarity with Right of Ways and/or Utility easements
• *Strong competent and/or experienced with laptops, spreadsheets, cell phones, GIS maps or other electronic tools in an outside environment.
• *Experienced in underground utility design, oversight, or inspection.
• *Have you ever encountered interaction with irate sub-contractors, general contractors, clients and/or Joe Q public, if so how did you negotiate and/or defuse the situation.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
