Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. seeks an HSE Specialist II for our Building Division in Goodyear, AZ.

You will coordinate, implement and monitor health, safety and environmental (EHS) processes across projects of varying complexity, providing training and guidance to elevate safety performance. You will lead EHS assessments, recommend corrective actions, manage subcontractor EHS programs, and coordinate incident investigations while ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction safety field
• Some travel required
• Required to stand, walk, sit and climb stairs or ladders
• OSHA 30 hour preferred
• First Aid, CPR AED preferred
• Self-motivated leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Periodsically conducts comprehensive EHS assessments.
• Recommends corrective measures for unsafe conditions to project management.
• Provides training and education to company personnel regarding EHS requirements.
• Assists in coordinating subcontractor EHS protocols and site safety.
• Coordinates project EHS programs with subcontractors.
• Plans and coordinates work to minimize risks and losses.
• Conducts accident investigations and completes incident reporting.
• Advises Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols; performs environmental monitoring.
• Administers the Company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy and testing procedures.
• Facilitates orientation of all project employees to the EHS practices required by the Company.
• Provides weekly safety updates to EHS Leadership.
• Administers corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.
