Job summary

SLSCO is seeking an HR Manager to lead the daily Human Resources function in Galveston, TX. This hands-on partner to leadership will oversee talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll support, leave management, compliance, performance management, and employee development.

Responsibilities include full-cycle recruiting, policy development, onboarding, investigations, and reporting. The ideal candidate will coach managers, ensure fairness, and foster a positive employee experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience including employee relations and compliance.
• HR Generalist or leadership experience preferred; SHRM/PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll support, and compliance.
• Partner with leadership to drive workforce planning, engagement, and development.
• Develop and implement HR policies and programs aligned with business goals.
• Coach managers on performance, investigations, and discipline.
• Oversee HR data integrity, timekeeping, and reporting accuracy.
• Manage onboarding, background checks, and regulatory compliance.
