Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Construction Helper to assist Journeyman with constructing, erecting, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures according to sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions. Safety and quality are emphasized in every task.

The role requires at least 18 years old, the ability to lift 50 pounds, and the capacity to work 40+ hours per week, including occasional weekends. A background check and drug screen may be required depending on the job location.

Qualifications

• Preferred 24 to 36 months’ experience in the construction field.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and perform repetitive bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments.
• 40+ hours per week with possible weekend work.
• Background check and drug screen as required by location.

Responsibilities

• Bring tools, drop cords, and supplies to the work area.
• Sets up workbenches and saw horses.
• Tape off the work area.
• Builds forms, barricades, fences, handrails, and hole covers as directed.
• Assist with cutting scaffold boards as needed.
• Performs housekeeping and keeps the area clean.
