Job summary

Quarter Moon Plumbing Inc in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate excavators, loaders, skid steers and other site machinery used in plumbing construction.

You will inspect equipment daily, perform routine maintenance, follow OSHA safety rules, and read blueprints or grade stakes to ensure accurate earthwork. Requires 2+ years of heavy equipment experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Experience operating construction or industrial machinery.
• CDL preferred but not required; able to be certified by company Safety Officer.

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers and other machinery used in plumbing, plumbing construction, grading, earthwork and site preparation.

• Operate Machinery: Drive and control heavy equipment using levers, switches, and pedals to dig, grade, load, and clear land.
• Inspect Equipment: Perform daily safety checks, fluid checks, and walk-arounds before and after use.
• Perform Maintenance: Clean equipment, grease moving parts, and complete minor repairs or report major issues to a supervisor.
• Follow Safety Rules: Adhere to all site safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and signals from other crew members.
• Read Plans: Interpret blueprints, site plans, or grade stakes to ensure accuracy

Requirements

Job Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Prior hands-on experience operating construction or industrial machinery.
• Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for long periods outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Coordination: Excellent hand-eye-foot coordination and spatial awareness.
• License: Valid driver's license, with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not required. Certification in heavy equipment preferred. Able to be certified by company Safety Officer.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment
• Operators will be required to have or get a Plumber’s Apprentice card
