Job summary

UIC Sanatu is seeking a General Laborer to support various physical tasks at construction sites. Responsibilities include operating hand and power tools, preparing job sites, digging trenches, setting braces, building scaffolding, and assisting with demolition.

This role may also involve supporting other skilled trades as needed. The position requires at least one year of general labor experience, familiarity with construction materials and safety practices, and the ability to perform physically

Qualifications

• One year of general labor experience.
• Proficient in the use of hand and small power tools.
• Familiar with construction materials, methods, and tools used in building projects.
• Ability to monitor gauges and indicators for proper machine function.
• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling materials.

Responsibilities

• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
• Erect or dismantle scaffolding, shoring and temporary structures.
• Load, unload, and distribute building materials, machinery, or tools.
• Measure, mark, or record openings to layout work areas.
• Tend pumps, compressors, or generators to power tools or move materials.
• Mix, pour, or spread concrete with portable cement mixers.
• Control traffic near work zones.
• Dig trenches or backfill excavations and level earth.
