The Role

The Construction Foreman ensures the safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures. The Construction Foreman will resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably. Will report project status to various stake holders as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Some experience in the construction industry with a commercial or industrial general contractor, preferred
  • Understand how to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to work in a variety of roles and have a flexible schedule according to project needs
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to:
    • Adapt and be flexible to frequent changes in a fast-paced work environment
    • Demonstrate integrity consistent with Centennial’s core values
    • Collaborate and work effectively in a team environment with people of various backgrounds and styles
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, to include clear, concise, and professional presentation of information
    • Adapt to the constantly evolving world of technology, design, means and methods, systems may include but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite, Procore and Adobe

Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans; Allocate general and daily responsibilities; Supervise workers and tradespeople; Ensure manpower and resources are adequate; Supervise the use of machinery and equipment; Coordinate and resolve problems with Project Manager when they arise; Report on progress to managers; Maintain cleanliness and prepare job site: trash, rubble, waste and degree removal, vacuum sweep, wipe down and mop; E nsure the safety and wellbeing of all personnel at the job sites; Assist with daily safety inspections of jobsite and personnel to ensure all working conditions and work habits are following company, contract, client, and government standards; R ecognize hazards or problems and apply established rules to resolve them
  • Scheduling: Monitor schedules and attendance of team
  • Safety: Ensure compliance with Centennial’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) guidelines and procedures along with all local requirements (OSHA, USACE EM385.1.1, etc.)
  • Responsible for driving between project sites that are often miles apart or miles from the assigned office location.
  • Performance of the required job duties will be indoors and outdoors at sites that are under construction which may include various weather conditions
  • The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
    • The ability to walk terrain and surfaces that may be far, uneven, or temporary
    • The ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear
    • The ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle or feel
    • The ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, squat, or reach
    • The ability lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
