Job summary

The University of Florida on Main Campus in Gainesville seeks an Accountant III for a temporary appointment to oversee construction financial reconciliation and general ledger management. You will verify project expenditures, reconcile GL activity, and post journal entries in collaboration with project managers and the construction team.

As Workday implementation progresses, you will review budgets and funding sources, validate data across systems, and help prepare records for migration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency with accounting software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and business-reporting abilities.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Construction Financial Reconciliation and General Ledger Management: ensure the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of financial data related to UF construction projects; reconcile GL activity to project records; prepare and post corrective entries.
• Construction Project Financial Analysis and Workday Transition Support: evaluate budgets and funding sources; ensure data consistency across systems; assist with migration validation.
• Continuous Improvement: review processes, research solutions, create process documentation, and support implementation.
• Special Projects: participate in ad hoc tasks and duties as assigned.
