TEP Fiber is seeking a Field Technician in Charlotte, NC to join a small team focused on constructing and maintaining fiber routes. You will work outdoors, use hand tools, and operate light and heavy equipment as needed while supporting training for teammates.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 0–2 years of experience, and a valid driver’s license. Travel up to 50% and ability to lift 75+ lbs are required.

Position requires incumbent to work as part of small team environment helping and training others to construct and maintain fiber routes.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations both on the ground and on building roof tops, sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force of 75+ or more pounds.
Most work is performed externally, on-site, outdoors, with exposure to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions. 25% of travel is required in support of this position. Approximately 5% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Night and weekend work may be required up to 25% of the time.
