Job summary

Ghafari Associates is seeking a Construction Field Representative/Field Engineer to inspect, monitor, and document work on site for facility projects through construction, commissioning, and post-construction phases. This on-site role is based in Lake Orion, Michigan with possible weekend work as needed.

Essential duties include coordinating between contractor, architect, and engineers; reviewing documents and submittals; handling RFIs; and performing field checks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred, or related work experience.
• Professional Registration preferred.
• 5 years of experience with construction and administration of construction contracts.
• LEED training preferred.
• ADA training preferred.
• Safety training preferred.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred.
• MS Word/Excel/Schedule experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between contractor, architect and engineers.
• Review, comment, and approve construction documents.
• Review, comment, and approve shop submittals.
• Review, comment, and approve RFIs (Request For Information).
• Provide field checks and investigations as requested by office team.
• Gather site/facility photos during and after project.
• Attend construction meetings on behalf of AE Team.

Job description

Construction Field Representative/Field Engineer inspects, monitors and documents the work in progress on site for facility projects during construction, commissioning, final acceptance, and post-construction phases to ensure the work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and the project schedule. This position is based on site in Lake Orion, Michigan . Occasional weekend work may be required to support business and project needs. This position is anticipated to be one year in duration.

Essential Job Functions:

• Serve as a liaison between the contractor, architect and engineers
• Review, comment, and approve construction documents
• Review, comment, and approve shop submittals
• Review, comment, and approve Request For Information (RFI’s) forms
• Provide field checks and/or investigations as per request of office team
• Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project.
• Attend construction meetings on behalf of AE Team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
