Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an Inspector II for the Hunt Valley Construction Management Group to join its field inspection team. The inspector applies standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities, ensuring structural quality, safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; 1–4 years of construction inspection experience; active driver’s license; and an Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–4 years of construction inspection experience.
• Active driver’s license.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Client requested certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
• Performs routine tests on concrete, soils and other materials.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
• Gathers and maintains record documents.
• Makes field notes and computations.
