Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a Field Engineer for the Washington, DC Metro Area, including College Park, MD and Arlington/Herndon offices. The role involves coordinating subcontractors, resolving design issues, and supporting budgets and schedules on active construction projects.

Reporting to a Project Manager or Superintendent, you will help manage site safety, review progress by trade, and ensure work meets quality and contract specs while documenting each project phase.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and directing the work of all trades assigned to a construction work site.
• Resolving and clarifying design issues.
• Supporting creation of project budgets and schedules.
• Identifying and resolving field issues and change orders.
• Setting expectations for managing a safe work site.
• Reviewing each trade's work progress with respect to each project phase.
• Ensuring work is completed in accordance with quality standards and contract specifications.
• Reviewing construction drawings.
• Documenting each phase of the project.
