Job summary

TYLin Group is seeking a Construction/Field Engineer - Electrical to join our PMCM team for an upcoming electrical project in New York. The role focuses on coordinating with inspectors, verifying field conditions against drawings, and supporting cost estimates and schedules.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background (electrical emphasis), an EIT, and at least one year of construction office experience, with exposure to infrastructure projects and budget monitoring.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related field; electrical background preferred.
  • EIT certification preferred.
  • 1+ years of construction (office) engineer experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and working with inspectors for field reviews, data collection and analysis, studies and forecasting.
  • Verify construction documents to field conditions.
  • Conduct in-depth research to develop recommendations for approaches, concepts, materials and equipment selection.
  • Collect and manage data for engineering or construction work such as to perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimate.
  • Prepare project data for schedules, assist in preparing schedules and budgets in order to monitor progress reports.
  • Assist in change orders negotiations with contractors.
  • Review contractor invoicing to verify quantities and enter contractor invoices into Client’s online system.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
