Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Construction Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. This hybrid role combines estimating responsibilities with select project management tasks, offering an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded construction professional who thrives in both the pre-construction and execution phases of a project. The ideal candidate will have strong estimating experience in earthwork and civil construction, with the ability to manage project timelines, subcontractors, and budgets when needed.

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for grading, excavation, utilities, erosion control, and restoration work
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and environmental specialists to define scope and pricing strategies
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids; ensure competitiveness and coverage
  • Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews

Key Responsibilities – Project Management:

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordinating field activities for select projects
  • Support subcontractor procurement, contract administration, and change order management
  • Monitor job costs, track progress, and support billing/invoicing with accounting team
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and environmental compliance
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and consultants during early phases or smaller-scale jobs
  • Conduct site visits and field coordination as needed

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in civil construction estimating, project management, or combined roles
  • Strong knowledge of earthwork, environmental remediation, and/or habitat restoration
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracting practices
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
