Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a civil engineering estimation professional to provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure construction work complies with engineering standards. You will interpret designs, assist with job controls, and prepare take-offs for bids.

You will collaborate with on-site teams, produce drawings and sketches for construction work, and develop schedules, material requirements, and cost analyses to support accurate bids and project execution.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction estimating support, engineering, or related experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Strong math skills including trigonometry.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical engineering and cost information to ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist with job controls for contract, budget, schedule, forecasting, and job costing.
• Interpret designs and drawings for craft workers installing materials.
• Interface with on-site departments to resolve problems and ensure quality construction.
• Prepare status reports, punch lists, completed-work sketches, and material requirement calculations.
• Develop quantity take-offs, material prices, labor costs per man hour, and equipment data for estimates.
• Research historical data to develop guidelines for future estimates.
• Represent the company, project, and/or department in client and project management meetings.
