Job summary

Bristol Alliance of Companies is seeking an Estimator II to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial, residential, or industrial construction projects. The role involves analyzing documents, sourcing bids, and coordinating with project managers, architects, and engineers to align with company and client goals.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of estimating experience, proficiency with Timberline and Take Off software, and a strong grasp of reading blueprints.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field; experience can substitute education on a year-for-year basis.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in construction estimating.
• Proficiency in estimating software platforms.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and other documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
• Quantify and price materials, labor, and equipment for assigned scopes of work.
• Solicit and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop detailed breakdowns of project costs and prepare formal bid packages and proposals.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to understand project scope and conditions.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure constructability and accuracy of estimates.
• Maintain and update historical cost data, unit pricing, and productivity metrics.
• Assist in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
• Participate in handoff meetings and support project managers during the transition from estimating to execution.
• Stay informed on industry trends, pricing changes, and construction methods.
