CP Build in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team, reporting to the Senior Estimator. This on-site role focuses on reviewing drawings, preparing budgets, and leading bid efforts for commercial construction projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Commercial Construction.
• 2+ years of experience as an Estimator, or a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Ability to interact with owners, contractors, designers, and subcontractors on budgets, proposals, bids, and value engineering options.
• Excellent time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities and challenges daily.
• Proven ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.
• Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness, and follow-through.
• Team-oriented, proactive, and calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze drawings and specifications to prepare cost, material, and labor estimates on new projects presented and vetted by the Business Development team.
• Prepare budgets and quotes for projects of varying sizes, complexity, and type; work closely with Business Development throughout.
• Prepare conceptual proposals with minimal project information.
• Provide preconstruction services, including estimating shop drawing milestones, value engineering, constructability, schedule review, and identifying long-lead items.
• Lead bid preparation (in conjunction with Business Development) and consistently meet submission deadlines.
• Coordinate price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, designers, and architects; revise pricing as needed.
• Generate quantity take-offs for elements including cabinets, countertops, lighting, plumbing fixtures, flooring, bath accessories, mirrors, and more.
