Job summary

Finetco is a family-owned construction design and supply company with locations in Coventry, RI; Wareham, MA; and West Haven, CT. The Estimator prepares accurate cost estimates, material take-offs, and quotations while coordinating with sales, vendors, and customers to align with budgets and profitability.

This office-based role involves detailed quantity take-offs, price evaluations, and timely bid submissions, with potential site visits.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and specifications.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, estimating software, and ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements to prepare detailed estimates and quotations.
• Perform material take-offs for lumber, millwork, building materials, windows, doors, kitchens, and related construction products.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages within required timelines.
• Collaborate with sales representatives, project managers, and customers to clarify project details and specifications.
• Recommend alternative products or value-engineering solutions when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date pricing information, product knowledge, and vendor relationships.
• Track and follow up on submitted estimates and bids.
• Ensure estimates meet company margin objectives and pricing guidelines.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, plans, quotations, and project documentation.
• Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
