We provide general contracting, pre‑construction, design‑build, and construction management services, with a focus on quality, care, and safety. Our team is built on a foundation of trust, teamwork, open communication, and a strong work ethic. If you’re looking to work in a supportive environment that values professional growth and a healthy work‑life balance, L7 Construction is the place for you.

Position Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for completing take‑offs for various divisions and trades, including sitework, concrete, pipe, mechanical, electrical, and more. This position requires expertise in water and wastewater projects, including plants, lift stations, and pipeline work.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, proficiency with Excel, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to ensure accuracy in cost estimation and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of construction, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Water & Wastewater Projects: Provide accurate estimates for water and wastewater construction projects, including plants, lift stations, and pipeline work.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure accurate estimates and budget adherence.
  • Proposal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, including cost breakdowns and pricing strategies.
  • Project Review: Conduct detailed reviews of plans, specifications, and other relevant documentation to identify potential risks, challenges, and cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Contractor/Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and alignment with project scope.
Qualifications
  • Education
    • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
    • Sufficient hands‑on estimating experience in water/wastewater construction may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience

    • Proficiency in completing take‑offs for multiple trades, including sitework, concrete, pipe, mechanical, and electrical.
    • Familiarity with construction processes, materials, and methods.
    • Experience with Procore or similar project management software is a plus, but not required.
    • Must be proficient in Excel.
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex construction projects.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
