Job summary

L7 Construction, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to actively participate in field work alongside the crew and Superintendent. You will support daily operations in the field, read and interpret construction plans, coordinate materials, and help ensure project goals are met.

This role blends project management with field supervision, requiring hands-on problem solving, strong communication, and the ability to adapt to changing field conditions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on construction experience preferred.
• Hybrid role blending project management and field supervision.

Responsibilities

• Work hands on in the field to support daily operations as needed.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to support field crews and ensure correct installation.
• Communicate daily with the Superintendent, Foreman, and project team to align field progress with project goals.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs and manage shop drawings and as-built drawings.

Job Overview

L7 Construction Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer. The successful candidate will be willing to actively participate in field work alongside the crew and Superintendent, including excavation support, material handling, equipment operation (as trained), and pipe assembly.

Responsibilities

• Work hands on in the field to support daily operations as needed
• Look ahead at upcoming activities to ensure all required materials, equipment, information, and resources are available prior to execution.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications to support field crews and ensure correct installation.
• Communicate daily with the Superintendent, Foreman, and project team to align field progress with project goals.
• Field purchase orders
• Engineering duties as assigned for assistance in planning construction
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules
• Identify need for Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings
• Maintain as-built drawings
• Collect and assemble O&M material
• Perform subcontract scope analysis
• Assist with purchasing and expediting
• Document distribution
• Meeting minutes and distribution
• Scheduling
• Surveying/layout, technical writing
• Ability and willingness to perform physical work in field conditions
• Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings.

Qualifications

• Hands on construction experience preferred.
• Ability to work as a hybrid between project management and field supervision roles.
