Job summary
Fortune-Johnson LLC in Peachtree Corners, GA seeks an Estimator to join our team. You will evaluate bid specs and drawings, gather data to bid and win projects, and work closely with Project Management and development teams.
The ideal candidate has a construction or engineering degree, 2+ years’ estimating experience, proficiency in Timberline, Cortex, Bluebeam, Excel and PowerPoint, and strong communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- Must have a construction/engineering degree or related field.
- Minimum 2+ years in construction estimating; local market knowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of construction materials and processes.
- Proficient in Timberline, Cortex, Bluebeam, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proactive with urgency, strong relationship building, and communication.
- Leadership and teamwork skills; able to coordinate multiple activities.
Responsibilities
- Send requests for proposals and follow up with subs for timely bids.
- Track and review subcontractor bid packages.
- Complete material take-offs for direct purchases.
- Understand historical costs and budget impacts of details/materials.
- Prepare estimates in Timberline.
- Build strong relationships with owners, subs, and PMs.
- Stay current on market trends and industry developments.
