Trueline Talent’s client—an established design-build and construction firm in the Madison, Wisconsin area—is seeking an Estimator to join their growing team. This role suits someone who thrives in a detailed, process-driven environment and enjoys collaborating across projects while helping deliver high-quality residential and commercial construction work.

You will prepare detailed estimates, review plans and subcontractor proposals, manage bids, coordinate with vendors and project managers, and

Qualifications

• 2+ years estimating experience in construction.
• Experience estimating commercial and/or residential projects.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask across projects.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Excel and general computer skills.
• Professional communication and office presence.
• Ability to work in a structured, process-oriented environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to pass a drug screen and background check.
• Must live within ~30 minutes of the office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for construction and remodeling projects.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes, and subcontractor proposals.
• Manage multiple active bids and project timelines.
• Coordinate with vendors, trade partners, project managers, and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain pricing spreadsheets, bid documentation, and project records.
• Assist with scope development, budgeting, and proposal preparation.
• Participate in project walkthroughs and preconstruction meetings as needed.
• Maintain organized estimating files and follow SOPs for consistency and accuracy.
• Support handoff and project startup activities when projects are awarded.
