Job summary

Quest Group Executive Search and Staffing Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The role centers on preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project plans and specifications, and coordinating with vendors to support competitive bids.

Ideal candidates will have 2+ years of estimating experience in building materials or electrical contracting, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience in building materials, electrical contracting, or construction supply.
• Strong understanding of drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Prepare accurate material, labor, and equipment cost estimates
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Perform quantity takeoffs using estimating software and construction drawings
• Develop competitive project proposals and bid packages
• Collaborate with sales, project management, purchasing, and operations teams
• Maintain current pricing databases and estimate documentation
• Identify potential project risks and value engineering opportunities
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
• Support project handoff after contract award by providing estimating documentation and assumptions
• Monitor market pricing trends and supplier availabilities
