Qualifications

• Associate degree in construction technology preferred.
• 2–3 years experience in building construction estimating or related area.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review information from sales to determine required materials.
• Analyze complex blueprints and selection sheets to prepare estimates.
• Use estimating software to calculate material quantities and costs.
• Provide information on materials availability, substitutions and new materials to sales.
• Maintain current pricing data and maximize stock usage.
• Prepare bids and assess cost effectiveness for projects.
• Discuss estimates with clients and vendors to resolve issues.
• Train and guide less experienced estimators.
