Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator specialized in Heavy Civil projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including but not limited to infrastructure, roads, bridges, drainage, and underground utilities. This position plays a crucial role in the bidding process and will work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure project profitability and success.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to determine labor, material, and equipment costs.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive bidding proposals.
• Review and evaluate subcontractor proposals and vendor quotes to ensure competitiveness.
• Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
• Maintain records of estimates and update them as project details change or evolve.
• Provide input on project scheduling and resource allocation based on estimated costs.
• Identify potential risks and provide mitigation strategies during the estimation process.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in heavy civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations related to heavy civil work.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with project types such as sewage systems, underground utilities, bridges, roads, and drainage systems.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex technical documents and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, subcontractors, and clients.
