The estimator can work a flex schedule, including 2 days working from home.
The Estimator has responsibility and accountability for the entire estimate/bid. The Estimator reviews available documents (from conceptual stage to schematic design, design development, and contract/bid documents) to develop accurate, thorough, and timely estimates of costs for subcontractors, materials, labor, equipment, and other cost elements for multiple projects. The Estimator coordinates construction cost estimating, bidding, vendor qualifications, procurement/buyout, and change order pricing. The Estimator conducts daily responsibilities professionally, exercising discretion and making independent recommendations to project costs and profitability, ensuring client satisfaction and promoting the company's reputation for excellence in the construction industry.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field, with 5-15 years of estimating experience, preferably in construction. Must understand estimating costs within Construction Management (guaranteed maximum price) and General Contractor (lump sum) service delivery methods, bidding and procurement processes, and industry standards. Must have expertise in cost estimating processes using industry software, and be able to multi-task under tight deadlines.
Relationships:
The Estimator reports to Senior Management and collaborates closely with the design team. Success depends on maintaining excellent relationships with architects, subcontractors, vendors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
