Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Construction Estimator with CSA experience to join our team in the life science sector. You will develop cost plans from concept through design, and work closely with clients to deliver accurate estimates and value for money.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in construction cost management, strong communication, and hands-on experience with cost measurement platforms. This role involves on-site collaboration with project stakeholders and a client-facing approach.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction cost mgmt.
  • Experience in estimating, cost control, and client-facing roles.
  • Strong knowledge of value management and value engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Developing cost plans and estimates from inception through detailed design.
  • Supporting client land acquisitions and presenting updated cost plans.
  • Preparing benchmarking reports and data for design milestones.
  • Reviewing 3rd party estimates for market alignment.
  • Preparing estimates for project change orders and EPCM submissions.
  • Providing commercial input to design optioneering and value engineering.

Turner & Townsendis seeking aConstruction Estimatorwith CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural)experience to join our talented team.

The ideal individual will be a good communicator and a team player with a good foundation in cost and estimating.

Responsibilities:
  • Developing cost plans and estimates fromconceptthrough detailed design.
  • Supporting Client land acquisitions.
  • Delivering and presenting updated cost plans atappropriate designmilestones.
  • Reviewing proposed design changes/new technologiesand preparing estimates withinappropriate accuracylevels.
  • Understanding design stages and estimate levels.
  • Providing commercial input to design optioneering and input into value engineering exercises.
  • Preparing cash commit forecasts for the construction life cycle.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders in the preparation of estimates/ cost plans.
  • Analyzing labor markets and cost drivers such as unions & tax.
  • Supporting our clients with monthly presentations.
  • Benchmarking integration to ensureaccuratedata capture.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Project/Program specific responsibilities:
  • Individuals will be working as part of a team providing estimating support activities across a variety of life science sector projects andprogrammes.
Responsibilities will consist of:
  • Preparation of benchmarking reports and development ofappropriate data.
  • Measurement and estimation from a firstprinciplebasis for projects at all design stages.
  • Proficient in measuring using CSIMasterformat.
  • Undertaking reviews of 3rd party estimates toidentifyalignment with the market and preparing reports to detail findings.
  • Preparation of estimates for project change orders and review of EPCM submissions.
Market sector experience:
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D facilities
  • CGMP facilities
  • Various, with projects ranging in size from $50m to $1bn+
Software specific requirements:
  • CostXexperience preferred but not essential. Experience in measurement softwareessential.
Certification requirements:
  • AACE membership or equivalent preferred but not essential.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying,engineeringor field related to construction.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a construction cost management role such as Estimating, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
  • Thrives in a client facing role.
  • Experience supporting program level cost management for medium or large-scale construction projects.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
  • Strong communicationskills.
Additional Information

The salary range for this full-time role is$110K - $150Kper year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
