Job summary

STRUCTURAL is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for the New York General Repair division in Long Island City, NY. You will handle the full lifecycle of estimating for self-performed concrete restoration projects, influencing pursuit strategy and project outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of estimating experience, proficiency in Excel and common estimating tools, and a strong understanding of NY/NJ market dynamics. Travel about 10–20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2+ years of progressive estimating experience, with preference for self-performed concrete restoration or specialty contracting.
• Experience estimating projects up to $5M+ in value.
• Mentoring or supporting junior estimators is a plus.
• Strong understanding of NY/NJ construction market pricing dynamics and key stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software; ability to read drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates by performing quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis.
• Develop conceptual, budgetary, and final bid estimates from drawings and site conditions.
• Create preliminary schedules and bid strategy to support pricing accuracy.
• Lead bid review meetings and coordinate with internal teams for final submissions.
• Engage with clients and partners during the bid process to support business development.
• Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure smooth project handoff.
