As an Estimator for Piedmont Concrete Contractors, you will:

• Provide accurate quantity take-offs, job analysis, and pricing to produce successful job estimates for bids and negotiations.
• Prepare bid documents to obtain vendor and subcontractor pricing for various scopes of work.
• Maintain the estimate log, track bid statuses, and evaluate market conditions and strategies.
• Maintain historical cost data to evaluate labor production and suggest profitability adjustments.
• Use sound judgment regarding market conditions, materials, equipment, trade capabilities, and risk management.
• Collaborate with project teams to build relationships.
• Manage and resolve challenges with professionalism and resourcefulness.
• Leverage technology to enhance client experience.
• Promote safety by exemplifying and communicating the Safety for Life culture and ensuring everyone’s safety daily.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent training/experience in estimating.
• At least 5 years of preconstruction and estimating experience for $10M+ commercial concrete projects.
• Training or experience in cost estimating, modeling, engineering, and constructability.
• Technical knowledge of building construction, trades, and systems; familiar with current resources.
• Ability to interpret plans, contracts, and specifications.
• Field experience in addition to estimating.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication, emotional awareness, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Office 365, Procore, OnCenter Software, and ability to learn new technologies.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Flexibility, reliability, and integrity in independent and team settings.
• Willingness to pursue ongoing education and training.
• Commitment to safety culture and hazard identification for cost inclusion in estimates.
