Regency Excavation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator/Business Development to join our growing team. This role is critical in developing accurate and competitive bids for commercial and residential excavation projects. You'll work closely with project managers and leadership to assess scope, prepare cost estimates, and ensure profitable outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Review plans, drawings, and project specifications to determine scope and requirements.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier quotes; evaluate and compare bids for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and supporting documentation in a timely manner.
• Analyze historical data and industry benchmarks to support estimate development.
• Communicate and collaborate with project managers and field supervisors to ensure scope clarity.
• Track bid outcomes and analyze profitability on completed projects.
• Update and maintain estimating databases and pricing models.
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs as required.
• Monitor market trends, labor rates, and material costs to maintain competitive pricing.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in excavation, civil construction, or a related field.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, site plans, and construction documents.
• Strong understanding of excavation, utility installation, and site development processes.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, HeavyBid, or similar), Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for working with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
• Knowledge of Utah construction markets and regulations preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to attend on-site walkthroughs as needed.
