Job summary

Allstatelining seeks a meticulous Estimator to join our Wharton, TX team. You will prepare accurate project cost estimates, develop bids, and perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specs.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and collaboration with project managers and engineers to meet budgets and deadlines. You will coordinate vendor quotes, monitor budgets, assess risks, and maintain thorough documentation to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in estimating.
• Proficiency in estimation software (Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Excel.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills for cost estimates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Certification as a Professional Estimator (CPE) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects by analyzing drawings, specs, and documentation.
• Bid Preparation: Develop and submit bids for new projects, meeting all requirements and deadlines.
• Quantity Take-Offs: Perform accurate quantity take-offs from plans and specifications.
• Vendor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Budget Management: Assist in planning and monitoring project budgets and cost savings.
• Risk Analysis: Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for estimates.
• Documentation: Maintain records of estimates, bid proposals, and costs.
• Collaboration: Work with project managers, engineers, and team members to align with goals.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
