Job summary

gpac is seeking an Estimator to support construction projects from pre-construction through completion. The estimator will analyze blueprints, prepare cost estimates, and help develop accurate bids.

This role requires experience in construction estimating, knowledge of building methods, and ability to read documents. You will collaborate with project teams, identify risks, and seek cost-saving opportunities to drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience as an estimator or in an estimating role.
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with estimating software and standard office tools.

• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
• Perform detailed material take-offs and quantify labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Prepare clear and competitive bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and project timelines.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and construction teams during pre-construction.
• Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and cost impacts early in the bidding process.
• Track project costs and compare actuals to estimates, adjusting projections as needed.
• Review contracts and change orders to ensure alignment with scope and pricing.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality.
• Work with procurement and vendors to secure competitive pricing.
• Support pre-construction meetings and bid reviews with internal teams and clients.
• Assist sales and business development efforts by providing timely, accurate estimates.
• Maintain historical cost data to improve future estimates.
• Stay current on material pricing, labor rates, building codes, and industry trends.
