Job description

Construction Estimator and Sr Project Manager – Wichita, KS or Kansas City

Salary range: $85k up to $125K (depending on skill sets) with a bonus on final

Overview

We are seeking experienced professionals to join our team:

• Construction Estimator: Ideal candidates will have experience estimating projects for commercial general contractors or specialty trade contractors. Feel free to refer qualified acquaintances.
• Senior Project Manager: Responsible for managing construction projects from inception to completion across diverse sectors such as hospitality, multifamily, retail, healthcare, higher education, and recreation/entertainment. Projects can range up to $100 million. Our nationwide presence spans over 40 states.

Job Duties for Estimator:

• Review and analyze construction documents, including plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Identify and solicit bids from qualified suppliers and subcontractors.
• Perform material take-offs for accurate cost estimation.
• Evaluate vendors, negotiate prices, and ensure project suitability.
• Assess bid completeness and compile comprehensive estimates.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to align project goals.
• Select methods, materials, and partners based on experience and judgment.

Required Skills and Experience for Estimator:

• Degree in Construction Management/Science or similar, with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Experience with projects over $3.5M is required.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience creating estimates from conceptual plans.
• Proficiency with ProCore or similar project management and estimating platforms.

Job Duties for Senior Project Manager:

• Manage projects from conception to completion.
• Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
• Track and report project costs.
• Lead project teams through all phases.
• Coordinate with clients, designers, and teams daily.
• Select and manage subcontractors and vendors.
• Negotiate and draft subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure safety, schedule, and quality; travel within or outside Wichita or Kansas City may be required.
• Support field staff daily.

Required Skills and Experience for Senior Project Manager:

• Degree in Construction Management.
• At least three years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing projects in the $5M-$20M range.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Procore or similar platforms.
• Self-starter with strong leadership skills and ability to operate independently in a busy environment.
