Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking a Senior Estimator for a 100% employee-owned commercial construction company in the Chicago area. You will lead high-volume bids from review to submission, with opportunities to advance into estimating leadership and own preconstruction success.

The role requires onsite work five days a week, travel to active jobsites, and strong skills in Bluebeam and Excel to produce precise estimates and buyouts for public and institutional projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Experience managing multiple bids and deadlines.
• Bluebeam and Excel proficiency.
• Subcontractor pricing and bid leveling experience.
• Comfortable onsite 5 days/week and traveling to jobsites.
• Public/institutional construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial bids from initial review through submission.
• Perform takeoffs, pricing, scope review, and bid leveling.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and project walkthroughs.
• Visit active jobsites and stay connected to field operations.
• Coordinate estimate handoff and buyout with PMs and Superintendents.
• Manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The Senior Estimator will manage commercial construction estimates from start to finish and play an important role within the preconstruction team. This is a high-volume position handling multiple bids each week, with a clear opportunity for future advancement into estimating leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial bids from initial review through submission
