Job description

The Position

This full-time, in-office role for a Construction Estimator involves reviewing construction estimates in Xactimate and Symbility, providing detailed feedback and line-item justification, and creating new estimates from digital sources. The position is new at DSI and offers the potential to advance into a managerial role overseeing a team, driving process improvements with the VP of Construction, and developing standard operating procedures and process maps. Work is primarily onsite but offers occasional work-from-home opportunities. The role starts at $70,000-80,000 depending on experience, with up to a 20% bonus.

Candidate Profile

• Review job site information from photos and notes from field personnel.
• Estimate projects using Xactimate and Symbility.
• Provide training and feedback to Estimators.
• Understand and provide feedback on monthly adjustments to estimating software.
• Submit complete estimates for approval within required timeframe.
• Experience with 3D scanning software such as Matterport is highly desirable.
• Communicate effectively with internal team, project managers, and insurance adjusters.
• Produce supplements and change orders as needed.

Requirements

• Expert construction estimator in Xactimate and Symbility.
• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience (10+ preferred).
• Produce estimates that deliver excellent profit margins.
• Previous experience working with TPAs is required.
• Ability to handle high volume and execute estimates quickly on tight deadlines.
• Ability to train estimators on preferred guidelines and industry trends.
