Qualifications

• 3+ years estimating experience in commercial landscape or related construction field.
• Strong understanding of landscape construction methods and materials.
• Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents, specifications, and site conditions to develop detailed and accurate project estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, hardscape, irrigation, planting, erosion control, and site amenities.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support our growing commercial landscape construction operations in Central Ohio. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and profitable bids for large-scale landscape construction projects, including site development, hardscape, irrigation, planting, and associated scopes. The Estimator works closely with sales, operations, vendors, and clients to ensure clear project understanding from bid through handoff.

• Review construction documents, specifications, and site conditions to develop detailed and accurate project estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, hardscape, irrigation, planting, erosion control, and site amenities
• Prepare complete bid proposals including material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and contingencies
• Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Ensure estimates align with company production rates and profitability goals

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction & Estimating

• Review construction documents, specifications, and site conditions to develop detailed and accurate project estimates
• Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, hardscape, irrigation, planting, erosion control, and site amenities
• Prepare complete bid proposals including material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, and contingencies
• Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Ensure estimates align with company production rates and profitability goals

Project Coordination

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews
• Collaborate with operations teams to validate constructability and sequencing
• Support project turnover with detailed estimate documentation
• Assist with change order pricing as needed
