Job summary

Kirk Corporation is seeking a Construction Estimator to analyze project plans and develop accurate estimates for large-scale construction opportunities. You will review drawings, cost components, and bid documents to determine scope and requirements while collaborating with leadership on risks and feasibility.

Applicants should have experience in construction estimating or related roles, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction estimating, project engineering, or a related construction role.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.
• Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with Timberline/Sage Estimating or similar software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements
• Prepare complete cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and production costs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Collaborate with company leadership to assess project risks, scheduling, and overall feasibility
• Maintain current pricing information and estimating databases
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs as needed
• Assist with bid preparation, proposal development, and project turnover meetings
• Work closely with operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction
