What You'll Be Responsible For

Strategic Leadership

• Lead and oversee all estimating and preconstruction efforts
• Develop estimating standards, systems, and best practices
• Work directly with executive leadership on project pursuit strategies
• Participating in business development and client presentations
• Supporting long-term company growth initiatives

Preconstruction Management

• Lead conceptual estimating and budgeting efforts
• Develop detailed hard-bid and negotiated proposals
• Manage value engineering exercises
• Review plans, specifications, and constructability issues
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies
• Build, mentor, and lead estimating personnel
• Establish accountability and performance standards
• Create training and professional development programs
• Foster collaboration between estimating, project management, and field operations
• Analyze project profitability and risk
• Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and margin protection
• Review subcontractor and vendor proposals
• Maintain cost databases and historical pricing information
• Drive continuous improvement in estimating accuracy

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Proven leadership experience managing estimating teams or departments
• Strong tenant improvement and ground-up construction experience
• Restaurant, retail, and hospitality experience highly preferred
• Expertise in conceptual estimating, budgeting, and value engineering
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and means & methods
• Advanced understanding of pricing strategy and risk evaluation
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, Construct Connect, Excel, and estimating software platforms
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Ability to lead discussions with clients, architects, developers, and executive teams
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
