Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

General Summary

BAC is a Heavy, Marine, Utility, Rigging Contractor working in the public, private and municipal sectors, serving Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York.We are looking for a full-time, on-site estimator capable of developing complete, accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public projects ranging from $100,000 to $30 million in heavy, utility and marine construction.

• Receive, file and distribute bid documents including plans, specifications, RFI’s, addenda, etc.
• Review bid documents for completeness, conflicts and questions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of bidding documents and ability to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of the documents.
• Attend pre-bids and site walk throughs as required.
• Develop budgetary estimates.
• Contact and communicate with potential subcontractors, coordinate subcontractor bids.
• Provide input on potential alternates, options and or value engineering.
• Good leadership, verbal and writing skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet established deadlines.

Education and Work Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.
• 3+ years as a Superintendent, Project Manager or similar.
• 7+ years estimating heavy highway and/or civil projects.
• 10+ years total experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• MS Project Scheduling software.
• Advanced knowledge of Estimating software HCSS HeavyBid.
• Advanced knowledge of construction principles
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
