Job summary

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) is seeking an Estimator to gather and analyze financial data to estimate costs for current or proposed projects, and to oversee Estimator Assistants.

This role requires strong communication, cost accounting knowledge, and proficiency with Take Off and Microsoft Office.

You will work with clients, engineers, and staff to identify cost-saving opportunities and draft reliable project estimates.

• Determines needs for additional staff, machinery, materials, and other resources.
• Drafts cost estimates for projects based on data analysis and research.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Summary of Responsibilities: The Estimator is responsible for gathering and analyzing financial data to estimate and allocate costs for current or proposed projects, as well as managing Estimator Assistants.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.
• Proficient with Take Off software and cost software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Meets and collaborates with clients, engineers, and other staff to understand the products being developed.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the essential functions, the employee must be able to lift 15 pounds at times and sit at a desk for prolonged periods working on a computer.

Work Environment:

Work in an office environment and work at a computer for extended periods of time.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred.
• Five years of related experience required.
