Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Operator to operate construction equipment per safety policies and job plans. You will handle machines like blades, dozers, loaders, cranes, and lifts while maintaining a clean work area and adhering to Mortenson safety rules.

The role emphasizes following work plans, performing routine equipment checks, and collaborating with diverse teams. Applicants should have at least one year of related experience and the ability to read manuals and load charts.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of related experience.
• Equipment certifications as required.
• Valid driver's license with proper endorsements as required by law.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to operate equipment via levers, gears, pedals and steering wheels; basic math skills.
• Ability to work independently with good communication and open to feedback.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs; more with assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid-steer, boom lifts/aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane.
• Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clear and orderly housekeeping.
• Perform routine maintenance, observe equipment operation, and detect malfunctions.
• Follow work plans and pre-task cards.
• Build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
