Job summary

Montana Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an Equipment Operator for the Great Falls, MT area. You will work with heavy equipment to lay asphalt, prepare ground, and install utilities on varied projects, with training offered if needed.

Safety-minded professionals with a valid driver's license and prior equipment experience are encouraged to apply. Wages are $23.00–$30.00/hour DOE, with possible overtime and Davis Bacon wage consideration.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Prior equipment operation experience in construction or related environments.
• Safety minded with good attendance, punctuality, and performance.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to work with supervisor and plant personnel.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug testing.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Performs pre- and post shift inspection of equipment
• Excavate holes and ditches and move materials
• Load materials into trucks for hauling
• Use heavy equipment to lift and move heavy structures and equipment
• Use equipment to grade terrain
• Checks necessary equipment parts to ensure proper function of equipment.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Assist labor crew including shoveling, raking and compacting of asphalt materials.
• Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
• Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
• Regular and timely attendance.
• Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
