Job summary

Montana Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, in Helena, MT, seeks an Equipment Operator to run heavy construction equipment, perform grading and paving prep, and contribute to safe, efficient project delivery. You'll be part of a team on varied sites, with training available for those newer to the field.

Applicants should have 3–6 years in heavy civil construction, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Background in heavy civil construction (grading/excavation/site work) with 3–6 years.
• Passionate about safety and mentoring teammates to maintain a safe workplace.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen; US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by using equipment within designed parameters.
• Maintain safe slopes on excavations and proper barricading.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Keep machines cleaned and maintained.
• Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards.
• Keep time and material records.
• Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications.
• Knowledge of load weight limits and transport to sites.
• Assist labor crew including shoveling, raking and asphalt material compaction.
• Routinely assist other production team members; attend on-time and support a safe environment.
