Job summary

RES Americas is seeking an Equipment Operator to safely operate both light and heavy equipment on project sites. You will inspect loads, perform pre-inspections, monitor usage and fuel, and report findings daily.

Certification on site is required for all equipment, with extensive travel to remote sites a possibility. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and maintenance of equipment, including crane operation responsibilities where applicable.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years experience with backhoe, loader, roller and rock truck
  • 1-3 years experience with blade, excavator and dozer
  • 1-3 years experience with crane and trencher
  • Must be certified on site for all types of heavy/light equipment by displaying skill level to a Superintendent.

Responsibilities

  • Follows safety and operating procedures of heavy and light equipment.
  • Operates light/heavy equipment including, but not limited to Backhoe, loader and rock truck; Blade, excavator and dozer; Digger Derrick; Crane.
  • Inspects loads, performs pre-inspection checks and monitors equipment during operation, reporting results daily.
  • Performs work on various terrains and evaluates requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Calculates crane capacities and weights for rigging and hoisting (Crane Operators).
  • Maintains equipment with preventive maintenance and timely repairs.
  • Notifies management of malfunctions and keeps work area organized.
  • Cleans interior cab area of equipment daily and adheres to safety procedures.
