Job summary

POET in Sioux Falls, SD is offering a Summer 2027 Project Management Internship designed to provide a balanced experience of construction and engineering methods in the field and office. You will gain exposure to the design/build process and interact with owners, engineers, project managers, subcontractors and suppliers to understand project manager and superintendent roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Junior or Senior-level college student or recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Experience in the construction field or related areas of engineering preferred.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the candidate’s engineering field.
• Must possess excellent scheduling, organizational, and budget management skills.
• Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new programs.
• A strong level of personal integrity and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Updating the Project Management and Engineering Staff on the progress of current construction projects through detailed progress reports and staff meetings.
• Monitoring construction activity at the site and checking for accuracy according to plans.
• Assisting the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in monitoring site construction safety.
• Monitoring project equipment and materials receiving.
• Support on-site coordination and project documentation.
